Loop Patch Notes & Alpha Changes

Track unfinished systems, badge shifts, and survival-relevant balance as Gazing at the Moon iterates.

Last updated:

Loop launched into Roblox Alpha on 21 August 2026 as a liminal roguelike from Gazing at the Moon. The storefront copy is blunt: expect bugs, balance swings, unfinished content, and rules that can change between sessions. This Updates Hub is the wiki’s timeline for those shifts — not a promise that every hotfix will be mirrored the same hour it ships.

Why an Updates Hub matters in Alpha

In a finished escape game you can memorize one map forever. In Loop, Days remix missions, collections, entity pressure, anomalies, coin sinks, flashlight reliance, PopUp.exe moments, and the hunt for EXIT. A midweek tweak to lighting, spawns, or mission rewards can invalidate yesterday’s route. Bookmark this hub, then drill into Alpha status whenever the place title still says [ALPHA] and the community is arguing about whether a badge or softlock is “intended.”

Use updates together with play guides:

  • New players should still start on Getting Started.
  • Escape-focused readers should cross-check How to EXIT after major patches.
  • Threat priority belongs on Entities and the Tier List.
  • Session prep stays on the survival checklist inside Tools.
  • Script rumors after a patch belong on the Scripts Hub (spoiler: we still do not host exploits).
  • Code hunters should confirm the Codes page before assuming a redemption UI exists.

What we log here

When reliable notes appear — Roblox place description edits, group shout-outs, badge list changes, or widely reproduced gameplay diffs — we summarize them in child pages under Updates. Typical Alpha entries cover:

  • Stability — crash loops, softlocks near EXIT, mission trackers that fail to complete.
  • Entities & anomalies — new behaviors for Smilers, MineSpider, Standing Man, or lighting tricks that change counterplay.
  • Economy — coin payout tweaks, upgrade costs, item spawn rates.
  • Presentation — graphics recommendations, loud-noise / flashing-light warnings, UI experiments.
  • Meta goals — badge additions or requirement wording from August–September 2026 onward.

If a change is only a rumor from a single lobby, we mark it as unconfirmed. Alpha gossip moves faster than patch notes.

Reading the official signals

Primary sources beat fan Discord screenshots:

  1. The official Loop place description and badge panel.
  2. The Gazing at the Moon community page (linked again from our Links Hub).
  3. In-experience notices after teleports or day transitions.

No public Discord or Trello board has been verified for this project yet. Until that changes, treat group walls and the Roblox page as the patch channel — and treat random “update leak” videos as entertainment unless they match what you see in a live server.

How to use this hub during a play session

Before you queue:

  1. Skim the newest Updates child page (start with Alpha status).
  2. Glance at Codes only if you are specifically hunting promos — there are still no documented Loop promo codes.
  3. Refresh entity assumptions on Players / Entities if a patch mentioned AI or spawn work.
  4. Run the survival checklist so graphics, flashlight, and coin goals match the current build.

After you die to something that “never happened yesterday,” check Updates before assuming you forgot a mechanic. Alpha volatility is a feature of the development stage, not a personal failing.

Contributing observations

Useful bug reports include platform (PC/mobile), solo vs co-op, approximate Day number, whether EXIT was visible, and whether PopUp.exe or a named entity was involved. Deliver those through the group channels listed on Links and summarized on Alpha status. Please do not pad reports with executor logs or demands for admin abuse — that slows real fixes.

Stay skeptical, stay patched, and expect the loop to rewrite itself while Gazing at the Moon is still stamped Alpha.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

When did Loop enter Alpha?

Loop has been in Roblox Alpha since 21 August 2026. Everything remains subject to change; see Alpha status for what that means in practice.

Where are official patch notes posted?

Watch the Roblox place page and the Gazing at the Moon group. No public Discord or Trello has been verified yet — details live on the Links Hub.

Do updates wipe progress or badges?

Alpha builds can alter requirements and break unfinished systems. Badge timelines from Aug–Sep 2026 are discussed on Alpha status; always re-check after major place updates.

Should I reinstall scripts after every patch?

No. This wiki does not endorse exploits. See the Scripts Hub for safety guidance and use legit guides instead.
